On a few selected dates in the Autumn season, Bowood provides a guided walk of one of the finest early examples of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s work in this country.

Arriving at 10:00, you will be greeted and introduced to your garden guide, who will take you on a 90-minute guided walk including the Arboretum of rare trees in the Pleasure Grounds behind the Walled Garden. The tour guide will provide you with detailed information on the history of the parkland and advise you on how the team care for the grounds throughout the year.

You will be issued with a 10% discount card, which you can redeem in the Treehouse Café and the Stables (weekends & school holidays only) during your visit (including lunches or refreshments).

These tours require around 90 minutes of walking with limited seating. The paths around the House and Grounds are gravel therefore wheelchairs and pushchairs may find it difficult, there is also steps leading down onto the lower terrace garden.

Max. 15 places per tour. All tours must be pre booked in advance.
