Celebrate your special occasion at Bowood House & Gardens.

The House & Gardens are currently closed and will re-open for the 2025 season from 1st April - 2nd November 2025.

10:30 - 17:30 (last admissions at 16:30)

Group visitors can access the House & Gardens on a self-guided basis, including the Adventure Playground, House, Gardens and Pleasure Grounds the Arboretum, Doric Temple, Cascade and Hermits Cave. Access to the Walled Garden is available from 12:00-16:30.

In addition, the Gardeners Bothy is available for groups to hire at weekends outside school holidays (subject to availability) for an additional fee of £150 per day. The Gardeners Bothy can be used as a private event space for a wide range of uses, for example in which to organise a picnic lunch or other children’s birthday party activities.

Any special occasion booked, which includes the hire of the Gardeners Bothy is required to include group admission prices (15+ppl) for all participants.

All group bookings require a deposit of £50.00 to secure the booking at least 90days prior to the date of the visit. This amount is deducted from the final balance, which is required 14 days prior to the booking.
Should your booking include hire of the Gardeners Bothy, the deposit payment will instead be refunded within 7 days of the event, should no damages be incurred.

Prices

Group Visits of +15 people can be booked in advance, at a discounted ticket prices:

  • Adult (17+)                  £14.00
  • Senior (60+)               £12.00
  • Young Adult (13-16)   £10.50
  • Junior (7-12)              £10.50
  • Child (2-6)                 £8.50
  • Infant (0-2)                £FOC

In addition, the Gardeners Bothy is available for groups to hire at weekends outside school holidays (subject to availability) for an additional fee of £150 per day.

2025 Season Ticket Holders receive a 10% discount off the hire of the Gardeners Bothy. Please quote your reference number when booking.

Useful Information

The House & Gardens is currently closed and will re-open on 1st April - 2nd November 2025.

Open from 10:30, closing 17:30, last admissions 16:30.

Complimentary visitor car parking is available next to admissions. For the safety of your pets, please do not leave animals in parked cars while visiting Bowood. While we strive to provide a secure environment, Bowood cannot assume responsibility for any damage, accidents, or losses that may occur while using our car park. 

We offer half-price admission for visitors with disabilities and their carers. Assistance dogs are welcome, ideally with a recognisable harness. Gravel paths may make wheelchair and pushchair access challenging, but designated parking and wheelchairs are available (subject to availability). A drop-off point near the House can be arranged upon request, with car keys held for security reasons. 

Accessible toilets are located in the Treehouse Café and baby changing facilities are also available in multiple locations. Please note that this is a heritage environment and therefore certain areas such as the upper floors of the House and parts of the gardens/grounds, may be difficult to access due to stairs and uneven terrain.
