Events at Bowood

North Swindon Big Band has a rich musical heritage and enjoys a proud reputation as a popular and much sought after band in Wiltshire and the surrounding counties.  The foundation of the band’s repertoire is based firmly in the classic swing era and the golden age of the Great American Songbook, further complemented by a diverse collection of well-known vocal and instrumental contemporary numbers.

NSBB comprises an accomplished 20-piece line-up including Saxophones, Trumpets and Trombones, supported by a 4 piece Rhythm Section; plus the captivating vocals of both male and female singers. 

Programmes will inevitably feature music from the likes of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie, plus vocal numbers made popular by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.

We are planning a mixture of traditional big band music, alongside a number of pieces which we are including solely for the purpose of getting people dancing.  We don't publish our set lists and indeed these will not be fully confirmed until a couple of weeks before the actual event anyway.  However, hopefully I can reassure you that we are already practising them and putting together a range of crowd pleasers which we hope will appeal to all.  That said, I just need to confirm that we are not a covers band.
