The North Swindon Big Band has a rich musical heritage and enjoys a proud reputation as a popular and much sought after band in Wiltshire and the surrounding counties. The foundation of the band’s repertoire is based firmly in the classic swing era and the golden age of the Great American Songbook, further complemented by a diverse collection of well-known vocal and instrumental contemporary numbers.
The band comprises an accomplished 20-piece line-up including Saxophones, Trumpets and Trombones, supported by a 4-piece Rhythm Section. There are also the captivating vocals of our male and female singers. The Seniors’ Golf Captain will be playing with the band too!
The programme features music from the likes of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie, plus vocal numbers made popular by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.
The evening will feature a mixture of traditional big band music alongside music especially for getting people up onto the dance floor. It promises to be a fantastic evening of classic big band music to take you back to the days when Swing was king! All this and a fabulous candlelit meal to set the mood.
